Did any of you brave souls get out there today, on the "busiest shopping day of the year", and shop???
Where?
Was it a mad house?
What kind of deals did you really get?
Is it really worth going and dealing with the crowds?

Not yet today.
May go out to buy myself a universal remote for my TV. I'll see when I get my truck back from the shop.

no way, no how.
i am even too afraid to go to the drugstore and pick up some a prescription. and im almost tempted to not go to the river and run, which is near a mall.
as much as i LOVE to shop, i refuse to go outu at all for the rest of the weekend. and then it will only be during the weekday untill the middle of january.

I went to Kmart, but only to buy a new vacuum cleaner. It wasn't too bad.

I may go to the grocery store later today. Traffic didn't seem too bad on the way back from Opel, so I guess it won't be bad.

Not yet, but it's a late afternoon possibility. Hopefully the crowds will have thinned out a bit.

My wife, daughter, and daughter's friend from England went this AM at 0530. they were back at 0730 after accomplishing their mission.
The English lass thinks we are all bananas to have a "Black Friday". NOthing like that in old Blighty.

It's not the crowds that are bad - people always surprise me by being a lot less stressed than I'd imagine.
It's the driving. In general, not just finding somewhere to park at the mall/shopping center/downtown.

Yes, I went out with all the other lunatics to best buy this morning. The line stretched around the shopping mall to get in! Said screw it and went to HH Greg for a portable DVD player. No line in and out in 15 minutes. Then headed to the mall to do some shopping for the wife.

The gals of the family all went shopping. It is this reason and this reason only that I look forward to going to work today.

I sat right here on the computer and clicked away. A good friend of mine called from the PX and said they had such great deals so I logged on and had my stuff purchased before she made it through the line. (free shipping too)
Too many crazy people out there today.

we stopped by KMart and saw nothing.
we went to a garden center that has a lot of Christmas stuff, bought a few things, but there were no big lines or throngs of shoppers there.
we went to a craft store to buy a few more decorations, got in a short line (cashier just opened as we got in line.)
we went to an "outlet" and had the same kind of luck, decorations, artificial flowers, etc, didn't wait long.
Lunch at a nice deli. fantastic fish platter for cheap.
NO MALL, NO TARGET, NO WALMART

NOPE.
We went to an older cheap theatre near the house to see Polar Express. Highly recommend. Then, we came home and took a nap.
