I'm leaning towards Kerry because he's not Bush.

But I'm not sure yet. May go independent this year.

Says a lot for the moron, that no one's voting out of confidence that he is really the man for the job, doesn't it?

Lurch for President, what's next? Uncle Fester as Director of Health, Education and Welfare, or whatever they're called now?

Perhaps they can make Pugsley head of the FDA.....

I wonder if part of the trouble is our two party system. As much as i would like to think otherwise, only two men have a realistic shot at becoming president.
1. The nominee from the Democratic Party
2. The nominee from the Republican Party

Sure, the Green Party has a guy who gets some votes, as did Perot's party years back, but we're conditioned to see only the two major partys as a serious candidate for president (media coverage doesn't help any).

So, someone can look at George Bush and decide that he is not doing a good job as President and that his policies (in Bush's case, probably foreign policy) is leading this country down a path it shouldn't be going.

For the person that believes this way, what is the option on election day? A "third party" candidate may be more in line with his or her views, but you have to actually search out and find these third party candidates. The Big Two are placed in front of you on a daily basis. The person who believes this way obviously is not going to vote for George Bush because he (or she) has decided he isn't doing a good job and should not remain in office. Who to vote for? The only other serious candidate: John Kerry.

This person may believe that Kerry is the best man for the job, or may just believe that Kerry will be better than Bush. Maybe the best man for the job was John Edwards (or Kucinich, or Carol Mosely Braun), but Edwards is no longer running. This person sees Kerry as the best alternative to the current administration.

Which isn't quite the same as voting for Lurch or Pugsley. Razz

All of the above, but agree with most of his positions.
Environment, Pro-Choice, Gay Marriage

I don't think there are enough liberals (what 3 or 4) on this forum to leap to that assumption.

For those of you wondering whom you should be voting for... I highly suggest you take the Worldest Smallest Political Quiz. I imagine, most (if not all) will be suprised at what you discover about yourself:

Centrist
Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty.

This is where I came out with that survey...

dunno

well, by black and white standards, I'm a libertarian then.

Never voted for anyone but a Republican presidential candidate though.

And, I'd be tempted to change this time, but Kerry doesn't impress me either.
