Long story short.
I had this friend Melissa, and we went camping and stuff. She said she'd pay me 20 bucks for gas for driving her camping.
She flaked out on me. Doesn't want to talk to me anymore. Didn't pay me the 20 bucks.
I'm just a poor college student. Should I ask her for the 20 bucks?

Just remember this next time somone says they are going to pay for gas.
(My one brother never bought any gas on our trip to Green Bay last fall. I bought twice. My brother, Dad, and the two buddies, all chipped in on stuff. But, he didn't buy anything.)

I filled up for 40 bucks.
She offered to pay for it all at the station, but I paid for it. When we got back to campus, she said she'd give me 20 bucks for it.

There was your one and only chance to have gotten it. You did the 'manly' thing and paid it all yourself.

I'd ask for it. I wouldn't be afraid of burning a bridge about it either. Just be thankful it's only $20.
Mind you, if the hair's up and the claws are ready to strike, I'd just walk away and find another stray.

Oh man, you gotta ask for the 20 now. Besides, if she isn't talking to you, what have you got to lose?
And for the record, isn't this an actual poll, thereby eliminating the need to put "poll/not poll?"

Yea yea, MED...shutyermouth.
I had to sleep in the front seat of my truck while everybody else in the group slept in tents. 3 tents. 2 people in 1, 4 people in 1, 1 person in 1. Chris in the truck.

I think I would have made her sleep in the truck. It was your tent, right?

No, her tent. My tent is in Michigan. But I set the tent up. And blew up her air mattress.
I even said I'd sleep on the ground with no covers.
