A good dose of patience and an AutoTrader can land you a great deal.

High mileage yearly? Buy.
Want a car you love and will keep until it dies? Buy.
Are you a car slob? Buy.
Are you a car cleanliness freakazoid? Lease with an assurance of not having to pay a restoration fee if you're a slob.
Low mileage and want a new car, but not sure it's worth buying? Lease.
Want a really expensive car for an affordable monthly price (and you rack up low mileage per year)? Lease.
I only bought new this time around because it was the best deal at the time. Otherwise we were looking for used to buy and run into the ground.

Buy. Leases are great for people who are going to turn in a car every three years, have low mileage, and are safe drivers. I've bought used cars in the past. They've usually done me well. I'm hoping to be able to buy my first new car in the Spring. A Chevy Equinox.

I leased my last car and had no problems. I am leasing again, mainly (sorry, Go) for the value of not being a female stuck alone somewhere at night when my old, ran-into-the-ground car dies. BTDT. Of course I have a cellphone now, so it's not as much of a problem. This time is going to SUCK as I am already voer mileage with another year to go. Never again. I'm still looking into getting rid of the damn thing now but it'd have to be some sort of trade in since the buyout for leased cars is absolutely ridiculous. I just always hated the depreciation and the fact that you always get hosed when trading in a car for a newer one. Must rethink rob's philosophy.

Same reply as RR and Akern.
And, no, that doesn't bother me.
