Gotta go with DeNiro.
Goodfellas...Godfather part II...Casino...Mean Streets...
He's the classic Gangster. Pacino would get second place.

Yeah, but DeNiro plays 'em all the same way.
I love Madsen. He is one scary mofo. I think the only person who'd scare me more on the street is Christopher Walken. Mr. Blonde and Sonny in Donnie Brasco rocked.
But I go with Pacino. He wasn't the Don for nothing.

I'm going with Pacino. Starting with Michael Corleone, here we have a gangster who wants to be legit but feels he has to do what he does for his family so follows a path he never truly wanted. By The Godfather Part III, the famous line is apt: "Everytime i try to get out, they pull me back in!".
Here's Pacino's mobster history
Carlito's Way
Donnie Brasco
Dick Tracy
Scarface
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
The Godfather Part III

Mine's a tie between DeNiro and Pacino. I think they both play really good roles. Plus Mel Gibson in Payback was quite good. 'Course don't mind at all looking at him.

I like Pacino, followed by Madsen. Every time I hear "Stuck in the Middle with you" I think of Reservoir Dogs..

And I also think of slicing off ears.

Next to:
Jimmy Cagney
Edward G. Robinson
Humphrey Bogart
All those others are mere amateurs. Who do you think wrote the book on being a movie gangster ?

I'm with the po-po. Pacino is a close second. "Heat" was a great movie, although technically not Mob related, but fun to watch them together.

I like the guy in Johnny Dangerously. I am pulling a total blank on his real name. Michael Keaton and ????? starred in it. This guy use to be in SNL and I am still drawing a blank
Nope, it didn't work.
