I don't do it often, but when I do, I use Easy Off in a cold oven, let it sit several hours, then wipe off.
I've had to repeat when the oven is really dirty, but I try not to wait that long anymore.
Need to add this to my list of heavy-duty cleaning while the kids are away this summer. Thanks for the reminder!

Mine has a self cleaning feature.
It's only 3 years old and I haven't cleaned it yet.

M’kay…
As it stands:
The men have no clue.
Most of the wiminz use self-cleaning, and one uses the caustic spray/wipe the next morning option.
This proves that while most of us have questionable cleaning protocol, this place is such a snooz-o-rama we will discuss oven cleaning with the same enthusiasm as a hockey game, household event or current movie.
You peeps is funny

I worked in my fair share of restaurants in my youth. I know how to clean an oven.
