A bar down the street has no limit Texas hold em tourneys every Thursday afternoon. Buy in/entry fee is $20, so I gave it a try today. They set up tables of 10 as people come in and the winner of each individual table gets a seat at the final table. I finished 2nd at my table after duking it out with the eventual table winner for about 15 minutes. The guy had been the chip leader for pretty much the whole time and I really didn't have enough chips to threaten his stacks. Now I just need a job so I can start playing every Thursday.

It's Fuuun!!!
Some of the bars here have free Hold 'Em nights. No buy in, but then again you don't walk away with anything either. I can beat the pants off any of my friends when we play.

It is fun to watch the Celebrity and Professional Texas Hold Em Tourneys on Bravo. It has taken me a while to understand all the rules. I think I would still get crushed.
