At last count, I had 36 mosquito bites. That's with DEET. They are getting high off of this stuff. I think that I will go get tested for West Nile. I know I'm sensitive to them, but I feel like crap and these are NOT ordinary mosquitos. They are so thick that you cannot walk outside. I wish they made "Revolution" (a canine flea, mosquito, tick, no-see-um, heartworm repellant) for people. The dog never gets bitten. They circle around her, but don't land.
We weren't down here at this time last year. I guess we are learning everything the hard way.

You may have already tried it, but Avon "Skin So Soft" works as a repellant. It's better than Deet.

They laugh at that down here. Loudly, and for a long time. Along with this cactus juice lotion that was also suppposed to be a repellant. Seriously, these things even get the skin between your toes and fingers.

i'm wondering if they are just really bad due to the hurricanes that came through. i remember mosquitos being unbearable in NC after hurricane fran went through. it was way worse than normal....considering your recent weather woes, maybe it's just this year that is mosquito heavy???
get tested though.

Avon SSS doesn't work worth a crap in my opinion. It seemed to be attracting the damn things up in Canada.

That'll teach you to root for the Chicago Bears.
(I do hope you find something that works.)

The only thing that works in the swamps down here is Deep Woods Off or the pure Deet, and you have to apply it every 4 or 5 hours if you're outside constantly. Worked for me.

blood transfusion?????
I guess mosquitoes are pretty picky and like certain types. I've got yucky tasting blood I'm rarely bitten. Good thing, because when I am, it's a welt!!

I am going to napalm the entire island. That seems like a good idea.
