Ok, dog owners...riddle me this...

Pippi has puked 3 out of the last 4 nights...usually around the same time...midnight.

Her puke is her food...barely digested...and that's it. (yummy visual, no?)

What puzzles me is that NOTHING is different. We haven't changed her food. Her eating/bathroom schedule is exactly the same? Seriously. I can't think of one single thing that we've done differently with her in the past month.

I'm trying to avoid taking her to the vet and paying $50 for this---> dunno .

Advice?

It might just be one of those oddities. I remember our dogs eating grass then puking when I was little. And apparently it happened enough to make an impression, because I don't remember much from back then.

I doubt you could have set your watch by our dogs' regurgitation though.

Awwww Poor Pipi Sad

I think she needs to stay here for a week or two so that Alia and I can properly evaluate the problem Mr. Green

Joel, could she be eating grass or insects?

Any new treats?

Did you leave your running shoes where she could smell them?

If it continues for more than another day, I would opt for the vet.

has the outside grass been treated with anything she could be eating or just sniffing that upsets her on that last time out at night?

my cats eat grass and their resulting hurl is very predictable. pets do this, i'm told, to purge

i'd call the vet if it keeps happening. the "same time" makes me think she's doing something to prompt it at the same time too.. poor girl. Neutral

try changing her food for that last meal at night. maybe she's developing an intolerance to that specific food. it happens.

is she aiming for your pillow? Twisted Evil gooddog.

As a fellow small dog owner.... my dog gets like that sometimes. I usually assume she's eaten something she shouldn't have. dunno I just keep an eye on her to see if she's acting differently, and what she's actually keeping down.

Has she been going out late at night? Does her breath smell of cheap doggy liquor? Does she have trouble maintaining her balance during tricks?

I think Pippi may be headed down the path to a serious drinking problem (and I don't mean from the toilet).

how many times a day do you feed her? does she only toss her cookies at night? Try feeding her white rice, I use that when Jena has a sour stomach, she keeps that down a little better.

Also do you feed her grapes or raisins? Do you use a swifter wetjet or wetmops? both of those a bad for dogs, but for different reasons.

If you ate dog food, you would puke it back up too Wink.

Try switching brands and see if that helps.

PH and Alan, you bad men. Very bad men. Making fun of Pippi.

Funny, but bad. Shelf, maybe Pips just has a stomach bug, like bi-peds get sometimes. Keep us informed. Get well soon, Pipster!

I think that posting more pictures of Pips would clear the problem right up. She's a celebrity and needs to be treated as such.

Do you feed her the devil's spawn, i.e. dry dog food?

The best book you'll read on it... Paul Loeb, "Complete Book of Dog Training".

Try switching to a canned food and make sure it's not a corn filled one.

Try boiled chicken, pasta, and rice for a few days. Has she gotten into anything like possibly chicken bones?

are you using dog food with dye in it? my dog I had as a child developed an allergy to this and started throwing it up. Maybe try changing the brand of food. Call your vet, Shelf. You could try this too, http://www.veternet.com/askthevet.html

Maybe substitute orzo for the rice, add in some pesto and some porcini mushrooms. Dogs can't resist Italian food.
