Posted: 09/21/03 - 11:36 Post subject: Phila Distance Run-RTPD style
Well my time was disappointing for some of you. 1 58 27 (909 pace)
I have not run even close to this distance since I last ran the PDR 3 years ago.
I make no excuses. It was a nice day albeit humid. I missed Elkid but saw RLAG twice.
The plus
1- My heart rate stayed steady the whole way, never above 145, average of 139. Very happy, I tried to run at 142-143 which I did.
2-I only walked to drink water. I thought I would be more tired.
3-I finished 7 minutes better than the last time I ran. This was actually my 3rd best half time.
4-The kids who wanted to be high fived near the finish line rocked my face off. I made sure I high fived every one of them.
5- My name was read as I finished which was pretty cool
6- I finished with a smile and I felt pretty good overall.
7- Another real nice finsher medal.
Minus
1-Missed Elkid
2-No two mile split marker
Splits
1- 844 (very crowded start)
2-3-1710
4-843
5-810
6- 916
10k-142
7-842 (mile split)
8-909
9-834
10-946
11-1004
12-949
13.1-1022

Good job Joe. At least you ran it - I'm passing on a couple of different halfs this year because I haven't been putting the mileage in. Got a 5 miler and a 10k left this year. Think I'm going to look to run a couple of good halfs for next year.

Nice job! Though I was VERY disappointed I did not get to see you, pre- or post-race. We really looked for you, though.

He prolly listened to you and didn't wear his neon shorts, that is why you couldn't find him. He blended in with everyone else.

He did indeed wear the shorts but I was looking for his shiny bald head in the sea of participants. Figures he was wearing a hat today.

to Joe!
First time in 3 years! Impressive showing.
Don't worry about letting me down. I was just giving you something to shot for. Great effort Buddy!
