This race was held in Lyndhurst Ohio to benefit the local schools. It was 72 degs and very humid when I got there about 6:15 a.m. (7:30 race start). Got my bag of stuff which included a very nice Mizuno coolmax type shirt and went out to do the usual pre-race warm up ritual. Met up with Roughausen for a bit prior to the race.

Race course is mildly hilly local roads without too many turns - really a nice course. Race started with some guy hollering out: ready! set! go!.

Splits:
6:56 6:52 7:31 7:23 7:10 7:53 7:14 6:51 7:16 7:10 for a 1:12:20 (7:14 pace)
Not particularly thrilled with my time, I had hoped to be close to 1:10:00 but I'll take it. I had too much gas left in the tank at the end so I know it could've been better. I have no excuse for miles 3 & 6, I must of went to sleep at the wheel.

10th place out of 38 in AG.

The best part is I won a FREE pair of Saucony shoes! They called my name as a prize winner after the race for only the second time in my life. It's a damn good thing Roughausen was paying attention because Captain Comatose here wasn't and would've totally missed them calling out my number if she hadn't of told me! Thank you Sara!!!!!!

why don't the races I go to have stuff like that. For overall female yesterday, I got a bag of flamingo sunglasses, pen, suckers. Good thing that I'm all about time. Someone asked me yesterday, if I knew where some money races around the area were. I'm like.....you think I'd be here if there was cash being given out nearby????

I've never been to a race that gave out such good stuff. They gave away free entry into the Akron Marathon a couple of times also.
