What I would do in this situation is what Megawill mentioned.
"Sure, I'll run the half-marathon, as long as you, you and you run the half-marathon with me."
Being in the field of fitness, and being a marathoner, I've actually gotten this type of "pressure" before from some clueless higher ups. And that was my response. They quit pestering me about the race AND they actually started to exercise.

it's 7 years later, but i wonder what ever happened? did morpheus99 run the marathon? the half? was it run with resentment? does he still work for the company that put him in that situation? no idea why i crave a follow up, but i found it to be an interesting thread!
