Yeah, he sez he wasn't drinking but..

Quote:

"Following the last series of votes on Wednesday evening, I returned to my home on Capitol Hill and took the prescribed amount of Phenergan and Ambien," said Kennedy. "Some time around 2:45 a.m., I drove the few blocks to the Capitol Complex believing I needed to vote. Apparently, I was disoriented from the medication."

..he might as well had been, he was NO shape to be driving. Dang lucky he didn't flatten a pedestrian or head-on another car.

He's got a history of alcohol and drug abuse. You'd think he would know he wasn't supposed to drive with the "medication" he had ingested. It appears he gets off scot-free though. If that had been you or me, we'd of been in the clink and taking sobriety tests.

No one should be driving after taking Ambien alone, much less after combining it with something else. It's a sleeping pill.

It's cheaper to pay off the cops once in a while than to hire full time drivers for the entire clan of boozers.

yes it is. I used to take it and no way would I drive afterwards. It knocks you out, and fast!!!

It's no secret that I don't like the Kennedy family's politics, but, I take issue with their personal issues paraded around in public also. I feel that these people take privelage to another level, flauntingly so.

Do we know if this was his personal car? Or an office one?
There was a newstory just a little while ago about Congressmen using their office budgets for some pretty high buck car fleets.

It was a new Mustang so I'm guessing his personal car.

From the newstory I saw on congressional vehicles of choice us taxpayers foot the bill for, a Mustang convertible wouldn't be outta place. Confused

One article says that he had just had an accident in RI.

Quote:
This morning's incident comes just over two weeks after Kennedy was involved in a car accident in Rhode Island.

I don't know if Patrick Kennedy was drinking or not. It's immaterial. In Georgia we would be charging him with DUI because our laws mandate you can be charged whether driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

And he should have had a press conference the morning of the accident, not after the news media makes an inquiry.

Everyone in politics does that. Wait till you get spanked. From Clinton to Bush to everyone.
