Pain on outside edge of left foot

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and I really need some advice.

I've been running for about a year. I usually do 3-4 miles first thing in the morning.

Over the past few weeks I started to get a pain on the outside of my left foot, not across from the arch, but right beneath my smallest toe. It definitely feels like I'm running on the bone that's there, and that's what is hurting.

I got new, narrower shoes and replaced my insoles (I'd used the old ones for about 5 months), but the pain is still there. I start to really feel it about 20 minutes in. I have medium, high arches, and I need the insoles so my right arch doesn't hurt.

What is causing this pain? Why would it start so suddenly and unexplained? I can't find anything useful on forums or other websites. Please help!
