I am a semi-packrat, my lovely bride is the Queen packrat.

What say you save it or toss it?

Toss it. I'm the daughter of two megapackrats and it makes me insane. I have natural packrat instincts but I try with all my power to stifle them.

Depends on the stuff. I used to be much more of a packrat, but have tried to simplify things as I get older.

I have a TON of clothes I need to donate. Anybody want some? The thrift store came twice, and I still have more.

And no, Bam, nothing smells like Grandmas. Wink

Getting better at pitching things, but I still keep too much. I do try to do the 13-fling-boogie at least weekly.

Stuff not in use...I would get rid of. I used to hold on to "everything". Now I've got a 6 months motto.
If I haven't used it, worn it, seen it or needed it in the last 6 months...I get rid of it.

That excludes all children's items, a box of treasures that were mine, teaching supplies that are left and other things with personal meaning.

Otherwise, it's gone and donated out. I've had 3 major moves in 6 years that has taught me to get rid of the crap fast. That and moving to houses with no basement! It's a pain, but feels so good to eliminate it. Mr. Green

I keep old fishing/hunting gear for some reason even though I know I'm never going to use it again. I used to have a garage full of truck parts but finally sold it all off...

It's a FlyLady reference. The 27-Fling Boogie is where you run through the house with a garbage can and toss out 27 things. Then, you get a box and grab 27 things to give away. I can nevah evah remember 27, for some reason 13 sticks in my head, so that's what I do. 13-fling-boogie-13-fling-boogie... it's what I think about in my head when I'm doing this. That or comfy couch's Clean Up song...

I try to toss. We have a storage shed that's full of memories and stuff that I don't have space for, but want to keep for when we retire.

I am a keeper by nature and try to stifle it, just like Cheryl.
