As Official Posse Social Dictator, I feel like I've been neglecting the "west coast" members of our PA Posse.....time for a roll call and a road trip!!!

Who's all out there and where are you located?? I am hoping to make the Clarion Half or possibly something else if not everyone's up for that distance, a mini-Posse event which would justify a road trip out there to see y'all! Soooo.....I need the following:

How far are you from Clarion?
Is there anything else out that way that's more distance-friendly, i.e more of a variety of distances for those not yet ready for a half or a full?
Wherever you're suggesting, how far is it from Valley Forge? (I'm actually an hour outside of Philly and right by the King of Prussia or Downingtown turnpike exits so I'm probably a little closer than using Philly on Mapquest)

Let's see what we can come up with! I'd love to add a Western Posse family photo to my collection!

I'm here.
I live on the west coast of Florida. And I was on the Posse team for the R3 event.
Oh wait, that's not what you mean. Wink

I live in the burbs of Phoenix, guess that's a little too far to travel to a Posse event.

Was born & raised in Harrisburg, some family still there so I do get back to Pa 2-3 times a year.

How far are you from Clarion? 1.5-2 hours, I think

Is there anything else out that way that's more distance-friendly, i.e more of a variety of distances for those not yet ready for a half or a full? I haven't checked various schedules for the spring... a 10K will be more appropriate for me in the spring; I'll defer to others in the meantime; am considering for the IKEA half in late September that is very close to me

I can see some of us need lessons in following directions!! Wink If you don't want to say exactly where you are, the distance from Clarion will do.

BTW, I see that this year's Clarion half also had a 5K, so that might entice some of the not quite ready for 13.1 crowd out too, no????

Where are Pebs and BB??? I think you guys are out west somewhere, yes? And joetheb?? And someone's gotta get hold of Stub if we do this, she'll KILL me if we leave her out!

I mentioned in the other thread that Clarion is about 90 miles from me. I may not be ready for the half, but the 5k would be fine. I have to check the calendar and see what's happening around that time.

you done slapping fingers now?

Sorry.... I do tend to be a little on the bossy side......but it's all with good intentions.....'course the road to hell and all that........hehehe

I know it is WAY early to plan anything for sure, but just to keep it in the back of our minds as we look ahead in January to the year's schedule (or am I the only wacko that plans this far ahead?)

I plan way ahead, and some of the planning is done for me. I have to be careful with April because of Easter (and my job as a music director for a church) I know I have a trip in May. I'd love to do this race, but really need to take a look at everything surrounding that date too.

Hmmmmm....good point about Easter, I didn't think of that. Let's see what the general consensus is, we can always look for a fall race instead if it's not really doable. Hopefully you can make it if we do decide on Clarion, though! I feel bad for you guys out there who are part of the gang but so far away. Sad

Clarion is about 90 minutes north of me. they do have a half and a 5K. their website is "down" at this point in time.

what else is happening over here?? Rolling Rock 5 miler in July - IKEA half in September (too dang hot). lots of little Pittsburgh area stuff in the meantime - all 5Ks. The Great Race is in the fall -- it's downtown Pgh and a 5K and 10K. Pebbles always does this one i think.

i would LOVE to do the RunnersWorld half in Allentown......that is just a bit out of reach for me cuz it would be a major road trip for me and, probably, the kids.

what's up with Allentown??? anyone thinking of this??
