Posted: 10/21/06 - 22:22 Post subject: Our weekend houseguests
My wife and I are hosting a family from Pakistan who were missionaries there but had to flee because of crackdowns on Christians in Pakistan. The father of the family had his best friend beheaded for being a Christian there. At that point he left the country. He is now in the U.S. on asylum with his family. He is speaking at our church on Sunday, we will be hosting him Sunday night and Monday morning.
Should be some interesting conversation. The family has 3 young children around the same age as our crew. We even have some toys to give to them because they basically fled the country with the clothes on their backs.

Our church sponsors a family that does missionary work in Pakistan. They teach foreign kids at a Christian school/complex. While it's what they feel they've been called to do, one can only think their nerves have been stretched to the point of snapping.

Kind of ironic that Pakitstan is supposedly helping the US in the war on terror, but is beheading Christians...

Scary stuff. I don't care to venture far from the U.S
It's wonderful of you to open up your home and share with others...a truly Christian thing to do. Could you recap what your guest says today?! I'd love to hear about his 'old life' ... but don't need to visit it.
