well, if it's the one when the guy is on the road and running thru airports and staying in crappy hotels and eating travel food and then - then he gets a phone call from his littlegirl while sitting in the airport??? and he asks her what she did today and she replies "Played Soccer".......
is this one of them? it is hallmarky. but it works for me.
if it's not your ad, never freakin' mind.

yep! That's the one, RR...We're paying big bucks this quarter placing commercials on NBC Thursday nights, survivors, Monday Night Football games, etc.
Two more worth noting.
1.
A couple wakes up. Eats breakfast. Drives to work. The entire time, not talking and not even really looking at eachother. Forward to the wife sitting in a board meeting when the husband walks in carrying a sign that says 'I'm an Idiot'. and then 'I'm sorry'.
The wife smiles, picks up her phone and types 'Me too'. The camera pans back up and the husband isn't standing their...(he never was, he just text messaged the 'I'm an idiot'...)
2.
A mom is on a bus...it's crowded and the ride is bumpy...All of a sudden she smiles. And the reason is because her son is playing the piano in the front of the bus. Then you see him playing on a stage and the father holding up the cell phone...

Oh I gotcha. I've seen those, but not the piano one. Definite Hallmark type spots.

Those commercials make me sad, because they intimate that talking/messaging on a phone is the same as talking face-to-face. A good substitute for effective parenting or actually communicating with your spouse live. Sad commentary on where we're going as a society. At least the latest Nextel (where everyone sitting around the conference table is using his/her phone as a walkie-talkie) is ironic.

I like those commercials. Honestly, they make me appreciate my cell phone. When my dad was very, very sick I had mine with me ALL THE TIME just in case he needed to call me. I remember him calling while I was in Target, just a few days before he passed away, and if I had not had a cell phone I would have missed his call. I was balling my eyes out in the baby stuff. I think we take for granted that we CAN "reach out" and connect with our loved ones anywhere, anytime.

i kind of like them too...thought they were well done...
BUT...not sure you remember which company the message is trying to promote...
...you know not as catchy as 'can you hear me, can you hear me now'...
I'm not sure sentimental sells as well as sexy, funny or just plain annoying...
I don't think they differentiate themselves from Verizon and Nortel (and Sprint for that matter) in the ad campaign...say what you want about those two...you do remember there commercials/ad campaigns
(how's that for having it both ways)

The airport commercial is pretty good, I think a lot of people can relate to that. Very hallmarky, yes

I had to roll my eyes at these. It is my sworn duty to roll my eyes at all things sentimental on tv.
Deep down, in the recesses, I admit, I thought they were...sweet.
