Posted: 06/27/04 - 14:11 Post subject: Our Ironman buddy....UPDATE
For those of you who contributed to the barrage of good luck emails last week for Brian's buddy Patrick who was doing IM Coeur D' Alene, today's the big day!!! So far, he's doing well. He's finished the swim and somewhere on the bike course right now. Please keep those Riff Raff good vibes flowing......I talked to him the day he left and I know he was really psyched, and appropriately nervous, about doing his first IM, and he said he REALLY appreciated everyone's support here too! I'm hoping to lure him over to share his race report with us when he gets back.
You can track him at Ironman Live if you're interested: (I am not sure if you have to refresh the screen to get updates or not, what I did is just go to the S's and click on his name to refresh)

1 leg down, 2 to go...woo hoo!!!!

Update: Patrick finished the bike in 6:32:03 for a 17.14 mph pace. Watching intently for him to finish the run!
GO Patrick!!!

Ok, when I'm 81, if I'm coherent enough to even WATCH the IronMan competition...
From IronMan Live:
Bell calls it a day
81-year-old Bill Bell swam an amazing 1:28:54 today!
He also made the bike cut off, but decided to call it a day because he's nursing a knee injury.
"This is exactly what I wanted to do," he just told me here at the finish line. "Now I'll just have a steady build up to Kona."
"This is the year I have to finish in Kona," he said.
