I'm less than two weeks from my first tri, and I've yet to swim in open water. I'm hoping to try it a bit this weekend, but it's not guaranteed.
Any tips and/or tricks that you'd like to share?

No but OW swim scares the F outta me!  You have dona all your swimming in the pool? No pond/lake or anything?

To date, yup. That's it.
I'm hoping to get to the river where my swim is. At the very least, I want to swim in the roped-off area by the beach. It would be nice to do this at least once before I'm expected to do this with a few hundred other swimmers....
