It doesn't seem like only a year ago when we said good-bye to our friend Max (for those who came here since, Max was our 15 YO Golden Retriever). You all were a big part to help us deal with that sad time, and we always have, and always will, appreciate it. Even if I tick you off - and I know that has never happened.............................Any and all RRers ----> <---- me
It was somehow fitting that when I ran the QC half the day after we put Max down, I ran with his tags. I think I'll do that again for Chicago. He always liked to go for a walk.

Don't feel bad about it. It's OK. Several peeps here said the good memories would make the sadness of the event go away, and that's true.
Riffers - you all are the best! Sometimes you just need to be reminded of that.

My Max is laying in front of me and your post made me give him a big hug. (he then attempted to get my snack) Running with Max's tags is a cool idea.

Glad you got to spend so many great years with him G.
Sucks to loose them but things just wouldn't be the same without them either.

Fortunately the pain fades, but the memories don't.
Have a good run.

Thinking of you guys. I love the running-with-his-tags idea. Very cool. Gotta be one proud pup at the rainbow bridge.

It is hard to believe it's been a year. running with the tags is a cool idea though. Like Sue, I've also developed allergies to dogs so it looks like no more doggies for me. I do have my neighbors dogs that come over to visit on a regular basis though. Diesel (large german shepard) and Sebastion (yellow lab) stop over and visit fairly regularly. They are both quite familiar with napping on my living room floor...

http://rainbowsbridge.com/ | Quote: | Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
