In 1983 the college I was attending had a VAX 11750 mainframe. For 4 million dollars it took up most of a room and cranked along at 18 million instructions per second. To put that in perspective your $219 got you a computer 100 times smaller and 50 times faster.

OMG! You guys, it wasn't that big a deal. A new tower was sort of in the budget anyway and I was expecting to pay 300 or more.
The kitty shoes need to wait until next month only cause I'm trying not to become Imelda Marcos! I already got some chunky loafers this month.
