Is it proper to send thank you notes via-e-mail for an interview? I don't really think that it is but I want it to get there in a hurry....Thanks!!!

i usually do.
not sure if its "appropriate" but that was the way that the interviewer and i communicated prior to the meeting so i dont see the harm, as long as youre still formal and polite and stuff...

you can find as many different answers for this as you care to look for...
typically though, an email thank you is not advised unless of course time is of the essence...if you have the time a heartfelt hand written thank you will make you stand out. also, don't forget to send notes to all that participated in the interview, not just the 'final' decision maker. Sometimes potential peers or underlings that participate in an interview carry a lot of weight in the final decision so it never hurts to garner their support.

Although I'm (thankfully) out of the interview process with my firm now, I had no problem getting these as a follow up from people I'd interviewed. I expect you would have to determine if the person to whom you're sending the e-mail is one who wouldn't mind, though.
Mega's right, too. If you had more than one person involved, send 'em to everyone. You never know which person's impression will be the loudest in the room when it's time to make a decison.

I'd definitely go with the hardcopy. And if you need it to get there in a hurry..type it up, print it out and go back to their office and drop it off. I've even slipped a thank you into a mail slot afterhours and scored some extra points for going out of my way. Also, I prefer an actual letter versus a handwritten or stock card. In the letter, my main thought is "I can tell this is a good fit". Your credentials got you the interview and it's your workstyle and personality that need to mesh to get the offer.
Is it lookin' like you might get a home at UPN?

Personally I think snail is better than e, but I think it's important that a TY note get there quickly, somehow.
I'm just finished with the hiring process, and I crossed people off my list if I didn't get a TY note. (Also I lost them if they didn't wear a suit to the interview, and also if there was even one typo on the resume.)
