During my ride today, one of my gears kept changing on its own. When i switch gears, it's fine, but that one gear has a mind of its own. Why would it do that?

Dirty drivetrain? That's what usually the culprit when my rear derailluer starts acting funny.
How old is you chain? May be time for a new one.

it is a new chain on a new bike. What is the best way to clean it? Should i just spray it with a hose and spray on some lube?
