I want to see stuff that we dont get to see. Archery, shooting, wrestling etc.
Must see, most of the track and field stuff. I love all the team sports, volleyball, basketball, handball, etc.
I hate all of the color people who are experts and are so into what is going on. They make high drama out of the horse that is about to jump over the one foot.
I think people can't get into the olympics unless they had a personal tragedy in their life.

Really? I never thought that was so. Do you mean "get into" from the competitors side or spectarot. On both accounts. I'm not sure why you believe that to be so. I think as a spectator it's part love of competition and love of country. For the atheletes, a lot of sacrifice, a lot of work, and more committment than I could ever muster up.

What I mean is that everyone seems to have had a tragedy that inspired them on. It just gets old after hearing it all of time.

I think you skipped a couple: swimming and diving to name a few...did you know mountain biking is now a category? |
Its all under Aquatics they lumped most of the events into their main section or area.
Track & field has the marathons, Aquatics all swim related events.
Triathlon is between the 2 hence its byitself.

Everything EXCEPT team handball, gymnastics, or and any event that has the word " "synchronized" before it.

Ah, yes, well then I agree with you. It's sort of condescending the way they interject these sob stories in the middle of a race or event. Why cant people just be competitors?

I wouldn't mind the stories if only they would broadcast more than 35 seconds worth of coverage for the 10000 meter final.
If Webb does well, then they will at least show his event. Maybe even for Goucher. Prelims for the 1500, 5000, and 10000? Forget about it!
Oh, but we won't miss a second of the team relays or individual events under 400 meters.
I might have a friend in the 3000m Steeple. I hope there will be a way to watch it.

Just like everyone else, I love the sprints and pole vault, etc. I also love the shot and javelin, although HH is right, you can't ever catch those on TV.
I despise the amount of advertising. Last time Coke completely bought the Olympics. It was insane.
I love seeing sports that you don't usually see. Weightlifting is a great example. Greco-Roman wrestling is another.

I love the track coverage...what little there is.
As previously mentioned, I hate the human interest stories. Just shut up and show a race.
I also hate the breathless post race interviews with competitors. "I want GASP to thank GASP God, GASP, my coach, GASP, my dog, GASP..." How about giving them 5 minutes before sticking a mike in their faces so they can actually complete a sentence?

It's not even that they are out of breath that gets me, but rather that they don't have anything to say. "So how did you feel about your race?" "Are you happy with your performance?" "You really had to dig deep at the end, didn't you?" It's not like we don't know the answers to the question before it is asked.
