I may hang onto them for longer than a month but I throw them out by 6 months max, otherwise its too much to go back and try to find something.

Used to hang onto them forever. Just filled a HUGE recycling bin full of mags last week, another will go out next week. Not gonna keep them longer than it takes to read them anymore. My small attempt at getting our dwelling rid of useless crap. It's a start.

I take mine to the gym for the members to look at. From there, they get pitched if someone doesn't take them. Neutral

i've recently started recyling them. driving them to the center seems so much better than throwing them in a landfill. between magazines and catalogs, that's alot of trash! i keep the magazines for about 6 months max.

I have about 3-4 years of gardening magazines, old Organic Gardening when it was still a good read. There's good reference material there that's not going to change.
I probaly have 1 years of WW Magazines I should take to work and see if anyone would like to read.
I should also take the old Shape, Self, Fitness magazines to the gym to recycle too.

Brewing magazines get kept indefinitely

Running/Tri mags get kept a few months

Everything else gets recycled after a month

I keep them until a box is full, then I dump the whole thing in the recycle bin.

Between Triathlete, Inside Tri., Bicycling, Runners Times, I get what I need information wise and then dump them.

Jenn's Clutter Reducing Tip of the Day:
Tear out the articles that are useful to you, put them in clear sheet protectors and then put them in a three ring binder by magazine. If the article is small, paste it onto a larger sheet of paper before putting it in the sheet protector. Label the three ring binder and put it on a bookshelf. Much easier to use the articles as a reference tool that way.

Put the unused portion of the magazine in a box in the garage and take it to the recycling center when it's full.

*Note: I don't have magazine subscriptions anymore because there were too many articles than I had space. Woman's Day and Southern Living are the spawn of the clutter bug.

Good tip Jenn!

I clip articles I want to save too. But I end up filing them in my big file cabinet. Neutral

I toss them when I'm finished reading them. Other than my Real Simples, those I may keep and read parts over later.

The one's I subscribe too (Money®, Sports Illustrated®, Bicycling® Fast Company®, Barrons®, and Fortune®) I generally read 'em and toss 'em

I do save a couple of issues for prosperity. Specifically the Fortune 500™ issue.
