Short Version:
1:42:30 (my watch) a PR for this course.
22nd out of 132 finishers overall.
4th in my division.
Ran Great.
Long Version:
I was hesitant to even have a goal for this race. My training has been very inconsistent, to say the least. But, I thought maybe between 8:15 and 8:30 a mile would be alright. It is the 4th year in a row I've run this race and it's always been tough (hot and humid), you run around the lake, and there are many small hills.
Quick recap:
mile 1: 8:16 (Right on pace)
mile 2: 7:38 (Whoops! too fast)
mile 3: 8:00 (better)
mile 4: 7:38 (whoops, again)
mile 5: 7:54 (I'm feeling pretty good)
mile 6: 7:30 (Whoa! don't burn out)
mile 7: 8:01 (nice control)
mile 8: 7:44 (again, don't burn out)
mile 9: 8:13 (good pace, but I feel great!)
mile 10: 7:23 (I was going that fast?)
mile 11: 7:48 (nice!)
mile 12: 7:35 (real nice!)
mile 13.1: 8:44 (I disagree with the mile markers here)
Total time by my watch: 1:42:30 avg pace of: 7:53
Now, the official time is: 1:38:57
I know my watch could be a little off, but not 4 minutes...
here is a link to the race results:
http://results.allsportrunning.com/results/results.cfm?EventID=5351
My fastest time on this course by well over a minute...
Not a PR in the half marathon, but a PR for this course.
I think I was 8 minutes faster than last year, so things are looking up!

Thanks everyone!
Yeah, my watch is fine...
This was the first year they used the chips?
Anyway, I didn't cross a line to start the chip, just one at the finish, so they must have had some sort of a manual start. And they started it wrong....However...I like your thinking...
That would mean I took 5 minutes off my best, AND
beat last year's time by 12 minutes...

Coach! This is very impressive, considering the training obstacles you've faced! You are a natural!
