Woke up Sunday morning and said,"I think I'll run a race!" So, I called up Tracy's sister (the one from the Madison Half picture) and she headed over. Race runs through West Bend - Running Brewer, EL, and a couple others ran it last year. Niether of us had run since the half the week before, so we didn't know what to expect - more for the charity than anything.

10:30 race start - kinda late, but it was sunny and low 60's, with a slight breeze, so very nice.

We got going and I decided if I could I would stick with Katie for most of the race. First problem - no first mile marker! Sheesh, that's frustrating. So, then we hit the hills - there are a few short and steep ones. Actually went quite well.

Katie was pushing me, and it's a good thing. Had she not been there, I prolly would have slowed down a bit. We got passed up by a couple of those darn 7 year olds (I know some of you can understand that one!)

Mile 2 was actually marked! We clocked in at 16:50. I would have liked to have been ahead of that, but, if Katie hadn't been there I wouldn't have clocked in where we did.

Home free from here. All flat or downhill to the finish. I was going to kick it in for the last half mile, but decided to finish with Katie (bonus points from Tracy when we ran by her and Mike at the finish and waved).

Final time: 25:09. Had a 24:22 on this one last year, but considering the lack of preparation it was good. Beautiful morning for a nice race and for a great cause to boot!

Randy! YOU ARE A NUT running a race a week after the half! LOL! And if you had been properly rested, I bet you would have beat your last year time.

Excellent job! PARTY
