I'm looking for a fall half-marathon in either October or early November. If I can meet some Riff Raff in the process, I might as well. Due to travel constraints, it'd have to be within 8 hours drive, so that leaves:
Texas, as far as Austin
Maybe Oklahoma
Arkansas (no RR there though)
Tennessee
Atlanta
Florida
Anyone know of any good races in your area?

TB. If you could put it off a little, Memphis has their stuff (including the half, which I did last year) the first weekend of December. Very nice race.

Well if I get a well paying job before then, I'd consider flying. So if you've got a race in mind, please post!

Atlanta has a 1/2 and full marathon on Thanksgiving morning which will attract mostly local runners. The full will have around 900 runners; the half 4500 or so. I don't know if PH or any of the other RR's run this one.
Run the Reagan 1/2 used to be ran in October but this year they ran it in February. I haven't seen the schedule for it so far this year. But two years ago, PH, Crazyfrog, Sonnylax and myself were all there at various times.
I'll be a volunteer on the Atlanta course again this year, usually around the 24 mile (11 mile mark for the half) area. I'll also be working the packet pickup area the Wednesday night before the race.

There's quite a few in the Tampa area around that time, including some trail runs. Use zip code 33760 (that's Clearwater) on Active.com or just select the Tampa/St.Petersburg area.
