No question too dumb or stupid. Ask away.
Like waiting on hold at a business the questions will be answered in the order in which they were received.
Amnesty for today only

Yeah, but stupidity is sometimes a life-long condition. Today won't be enough for some... (me)
What percentage of officers have their degrees?
How does the rank system work?
What are bottom level jobs and what do you get promoted to? (job wise)

Do pretty girls get out of traffic tickets more often than others?
Do you know of any officers that have received "favors" in lieu of ticket or the like?
Will you ticket a child/their parent riding without a bike helmet? (I tell my kids that I would get ticketed.)
Are officers on the clock when they must appear in court?

| Quote: | Patrolman/officer is the lowest. Here the next step is Corporal (2nd level street supervisor) or detective/investigator.
Then Sgt., Lt, Captain, Deputy Chief, Chief. |

Do attractive men get out of tickets from female officers?
(turnabout is fair play, right?)
Do Po-Po pull over other Po-Po who are late to work and speeding?
How fast can you go over the speed limit and get a warning, but not a ticket?

Do police officers eat more doughnuts than the average American? Just how did the whole cops/doughnuts thing get started anyway?

Sometimes. But when girls cry and think they can get out of it, no.
Do you know of any officers that have received "favors" in lieu of ticket or the like?
Do I know yes. Are they still employed NO.
Will you ticket a child/their parent riding without a bike helmet? (I tell my kids that I would get ticketed.)
Yes if they are under 14 the child could get a ticket.
Are officers on the clock when they must appear in court?
Yes-here we do it while we are on shift. Our hearings are scheduled by the court for days we work.
some towns it is on overtime. If it is scheduled and you are off, you must appear. Most times there is a minimum too. Like two to four hours of pay.

Good questions keep them coming.

No-men do not get the same breaks.
Do Po-Po pull over other Po-Po who are late to work and speeding?
they get pulled over but not ticketed. It is professional courtesy. Some here do not like this or may not think it is right.
How fast can you go over the speed limit and get a warning, but not a ticket?
10 miles most of the time. Depending on conditions. Icy, snow, sometimes speed limit is acutally too fast.

What did those officers who took our beer from us in my youth do with it? It happened a couple of times, get pulled over, officer chews us out for being underaged and having open containers, then lets us off w/o a ticket but they always took our beer. Did they realize how many drive-thrus we had to hit before finding one that would sell beer to a punk?

Excellent question Rob. I'm anxiously awaiting an answer because I think somebody owes me some beer.
