THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS STORM! IF YOU ARE NEAR ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR LARGE DAMAGING HAIL AND VIOLENT STRAIGHT LINE WINDS. IF NO UNDERGROUND SHELTER IS AVAILABLE... SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF A STURDY BUILDING AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS! |
Time to go for a ride!

Is that the same system that came through Louisville last night?
If it is... you're in for a wild ride... trashed this place.

So I heard!!!!
I'm assuming from the internet usage you have power? Most of my friends don't (didn't today) and several couldn't go to work today because of power outages, limbs down and flooding...I also heard comparisons to '74....scary stuff!!

No I'm at the office. I am pahr-less at home. Blocks worth.
The trees that got toppled on Cherokee Road were amazing. We're talking four foot across at the trunk kind of trees. And Grinstead is closed... big tree went right across the power lines. Probably why I don't have power at home.
It was WILD. I was downtown and I could watch it come in and headed home. Funny. I was right at Grinstead when the power went out. EVERYthing. Lights, signals, etc. Just BLACK. Usually you don't see the traffic signals go for as far as you can see...
Probably not quite the damage as 74... But something like 86,000 without power. A close second.

I'm totally disappointed. No heavy winds, just a little rain.

Yeah, we got a buttload of rain yesterday and some nice thunder-booming but not much of a storm here either.

But is there a American Meteorological Society recognized butt used for official measuring?

tell me about it. since i can't bike with my hand wrapped up i've been skating to and from work. I went for my weekly group run when it started to drizzle, did not want to skate in the rain so i went home before the predicted "heaven's gates" opened.
stopped raining before i got to Miss Steph's place. so bottom line. no run. no skating fartlek skating.
this schedule for the US 10k classic not getting a good start.

It's 6.2 on the Rectum Scale.
