| Quote: | You are invited in June of 2005 for a tour that is a cost sharing, non-profit, non-fund raising, invitational bike tour of thirty days from Minneapolis to New York City. About $1,000 for each rider. About 65 riding miles per day.
8 to 10 rider openings need to be filled soon (of a total of 55) for the ride to "hold". |
Spare change anyone?

It's not the cost of the fees, but the time you need to tke off work that gets in something like that.
I'd still love to do it.

The price doesn't bother me. The time off doesn't bother me. MN bothers me. Though the destination might make up for that. No, it won't.

You'd be out of Minnesota before sunset on the first day And it'd be all downhill too, so maybe even before lunch
Have you been to MN before?

Having been to Minnesota (Mpls/Bloomington area), I was very impressed with the area. I'd move there in a heartbeat

Once. Won't go back. By choice, and with good reason.

Oh I know... the forests, the lakes, the great outdoors.. the antithesis of elkid.

No, I actually was in what posed as a city in MN. I like the great outdoors, like oceans, beaches, open prairies, and the like. I just don't like forests and lakes - closed in spaces where animals hide, and where you could easily die and no one could hear your screams.

Yeah, and at that time you'd be in Mexico.

Kinda like the impression I got of walking on a sidestreet or two in Manhatten the time I was there
I guess it's fine and good that the legends of black forests and such keep the population from booming. Otherwise you all would have to put up with me complaining about traffic, parking, tolls and overpopulaton

I like the wide streets of Manhattan.
I guess it's fine and good that the legends of rampant, regular Son of Sam-style street killings and such keep the yokels from moving. Otherwise you all would have to put up with me complaining about slowness, 10mph driving, and weird accents. Keep the overpopulation to the rural folk having enough kids to have their own baseball teams.

Here's a pic of where I guess the tour would cross from MN to WI. Really neat old bridge by Stillwater, MN.
