would definetly make for interesting services though...
Priest's holy smokes
An Orthodox priest has been arrested by police in Bulgaria for selling cannabis joints to parishioners.
The drugs were allegedly offered by Father Kiril Papudov, said to be the most popular of the priests working around the villages of Kladenci and Borovichene.
He was caught by undercover drug squad officers who say they found 128oz of high quality cannabis in the his home.
In goth we trust...
A goth vicar is running services at his church featuring music from the likes of the Sisters of Mercy instead of hymns.
Rev Marcus Ramshaw, 34, who is a Goth himself, is behind the special services at St Edward King and Martyr Church in Cambridge.
The candlelit Goth Eucharist services feature a specially written liturgy and music from bands like Depeche Mode, Joy Division and the Sisters of Mercy.
Rev Ramshaw said: "As Goths there is a broad sense of an outlook of life that focuses on the bad things.
"The point of the service is that we all get desperate at times. We all get knocks and sometimes life seems hopeless.
"The Goth Eucharist re-establishes a link; God is still there for you even if you have been blinded."
Ed note: In the 60's a group called "The Electric Prunes" came out with an album called Mass in F minor. Actually quite good. I knew a few priests that used the music during Masses. Some clips are at:
