Life isn't fair, and it never will be. (how's that for a ray of sunshine?) The "haves" protect what they have, and the "have nots" work to get it, some within the laws, some outside. I can only control how I act and react to things, and maybe in some insignifigant way that will make a difference. I know that overall women make less than men, but I worked in a field where I was begged to put in for jobs because I was a female. Not fair to any of the men applying for those slots. I think there are far too many women who cry "sexual harrassment", too many white men who claim they never had a chance due to affirmative action. (I honestly do not mean anyone here. We've all worked with the person who wouldn't get promoted if they were the last person on earth, yet are the first to claim discrimination) There are too many people eager to toss the race card to further their own agenda not realizing it alienates people and hurts others chances. Frankly, the world has turned into a place where everyone is out for theirs and will use any excuse to get it. As a whole, we don't look out for our neighbors, our coworkers, or our community. I think in many cases it has gone beyond race and gender and is now about economics. The people in power intend to stay in power. They pump money into their communities and into their schools. If you don't think there is a difference between a middle class school and an inner-city school, then spend a day in one. Many of these children have what it takes to make it out, just no one to guide them, or they spend too much time earning money to help their family out.

As far as the sexual harrassment thing goes. I have no problem with the contest. I probably won't enter as I'm training for a marathon and I'm only so disciplined. Very Happy There is a double standard as was pointed out in the other post and I think the point was well taken.

Now, I'm through with my rant and am going to go take my 4th sinus pill since I've been home. I have a massive headache and my eyes are crossing from all this typing. I'll reread this tomorrow and see if it is even coherent...
