My last name gets mispronounced all the time. But its an easy way to determine if you know who's calling you or if they are a telemarketer....

I'm in that club as well....

It's a German name but when people see that I'm asian they try to 'asianize' it....

I have always had nicknames. I don't know why, but there are very few people who call me by my real first name!

Most of the time now it's either my initials, a shortened version of my first name, or my last name (usually with a fubby twist).

There are a few nicknames for my name, and I don't like any of them. I simply don't respond because I don't know they are talking to me.

That I'll answer to. Though I do get some funny looks when they page me by that name overhead at work.
