Ok so we don't hold the monopoly on dumb crooks...
Pickpocket seized at police Xmas party
24 December 2005
BERLIN: Police in Berlin made their easiest arrest of the year at their annual Christmas party, after spotting a man rummaging through the pockets of their coats in the cloakroom.
Officers of the Federal Police criminal investigations unit said the unlucky pickpocket had not known that the revellers in a Berlin brewery were law enforcers.
"He was definitely surprised," said a police spokesman in Berlin. "He did not realise who he was dealing with."
Confronted with 35 officers, the 45-year-old Albanian, who police said held a forged passport and was wanted for other offences, offered no resistance. (<<<Well, not that stupid...)

As Bill Engval would say "Here's your sign."

Everyone in the US Military knows one cardinal rule about the German Polizei - "Do whatever they tell you"

When my Dad was working at the Round House (Po-po HQ for non Philly folks) he arrested a guy trying to break into his car in the police parking lot. He didn't have far to book him.

A few years ago a guy was arrested in Syracuse NY for trying to sell crack cocaine to an undercover policeman. The policeman was in an unmarked Chevy Impala. According to the Chief of the North Syracuse PD, the car had "cop" written all over it...
