I received a free pair of Newton Running Racing Flats from a race I did earlier this year with 24 hours of triathlon. I've used these shoes during my speedwork and the longest run on them has been a couple 16milers. Based on the advertising of these shoes, the more you wear them the better they fit. They are suppose to contour to your foots configuration with these "memory pads". Why is it that the ball of my foot hurt after my long runs? I thought the lugs on the bottom of the shoe is suppose to absorb shock during forefront running. Has anyone else encountered this problem with their Newtons?

Thanks in advance.
Leah
