do you get a large city daily or read a local daily and/or weekly

Our county paper is very good.
I really like the fact that it is a tabloid style set up for reading instead of the USA Today or traditional style of newspaper. It makes it easier to read.

I do not really care for the two city papers, One is far to "city oriented" for me and the other is good for only its Sunday paper with its ads.

We just get the Sunday Minneapolis Star Tribune, which i like better than the St Paul paper, but i don't read much of it. I periodically grab the Bloomington paper, but only Sandy reads it.

I get the Akron Beacon Journal (aka The Leakin' Urinal) on weekends and holidays. All other news is via 'net or television.

I read our local Albany (NY) Times Union. At one point, when I was looking for work, I was buying the Sunday NY Times and the Philadephia Inquirer to get the help wanted ads.

I really should start getting the NY Times again...

I like our local bi-weekly paper here. One section "this day in history" is a good perspective too...

Aug. 26, 1974–Bus drivers in Wobegon School District will turn the starters on 68 buses and begin another year of transporting 5,000 students a day over an area comparable to the size of Rhode Island.

....now ya see why I think little states are fubby. Wink

I take the Austin American Statesman and the New York Times at home.

At work, we take the Dallas Morning News, the Houston Chronicle and the Wall St. Journal.

Will one of you seaboard states over there annex their butts and get it over with?

Our local school district has about 10,000 kids. I'm guessing this is more than the combined population of about three of your counties. Before I get yelled at - there's lots to be said for less densely populated areas as there is for more populated areas. Its all a matter of perspective.

As for Rhode Island...

I don't take the Chronicle, it bugs me. ESPECIALLY now that its "new and easier to read" which I've decided means "less words, more ads and lots of pretty colors" I do read it online.

My parents still get the weekly Louisville "Voice Tribune" paper mailed to them. I don't know what it is exactly, its mostly for the east end...But its great for gossip on our old neighbors and I read it to see wedding announcements of all my friends, photos from whatever festival, etc. Its pretty amusing.
