I have an unpleasant task to do in the yard and I am putting it off. Heck, I might even arrange pictures in a photo album <shudder> and then go do the back yard thing.

Do you work avoid or put off? What are your favorite tactics?

I have a stack of about 800 pages of paper that needs to be coallated. Do I look like a copier? Confused

So far I've called my parents, my sister called me, I have talked to 3 cow-workers and have spent the majority of the morning here. Looks like lunch will be coming up soon...then I might be out of ideas...

how timely aire Mad

a perimenopausal PMSing woman facing her 10 y.o. daughter's closet which must be cleaned out today -- the final hour --is the equivalent of climbing Mt. Everest for most people. please don't make me go in there.

painting her room this weekend so it's gotta happen today.

using the "now or never" tactic. been putting this off for, um, quite a while.

help. i'm at the start line of a 26.2 hilly windy rainy icy -- there might even be hot coals there --- marathon.

You win. Your task beats mine hands down. All I had to do was go pick up dog doo in the backyard. A 10 y.o. child's closet....enough to strike fear in the bravest of hearts...

Were you told that you could listen to your music while collating, at a reasonable volume?

I have to convince The Cheapest Man Alive that my 18 year old van does indeed need replacing, and needs replacing with something AWD and V6ish.
Hey, if you're going to assimilate to the minivan Borg you may as well do it with 150 horsepower. Mr. Green

Laundy is my favorite work avoidance tactic. I can convince myself I'm really doing something whilst waiting for the washer and dryer to do their thing, so then I can goof (read, runningforums.com, movies etc.! Embarassed )

I'm running out of guest speakers to avoid work. Mr. Green At home, I agree about the laundry. I can do 100 other things while something around the house is getting done. Then I can claim that the laundry took me all day!

Here's a win-win deal: tell the 10-year old that she must clean her closet out or she gets sent to airehead's place to work in the backyard for, oh, $1.00/hour.

There are two squirrels out my window, and they are married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much...
