Need to go to shoulder surgery

I am a dedicated swimmer. I have managed to accomplish a constant improvement. I like both fun in the water and serious swimming. Unfortunately while helping my brother at the construction site I was trying to lift something heavier than usual. I managed to hurt my shoulder. I need to go to shoulder surgery. What are my chances of swimming pro again?

I don’t know the nature of your injury so I can only guess but I see no reason why shouldn’t you swim the way you did before. Recovery from the shoulder surgery may take a while but eventually you will regain strength and flexibility and you will be able to glide through the water again. You will lose some form but don’t worry. You will regain it in days to follow your complete recovery.
