Hey gang!
Any ideas on how we can recruit some new members here to running forums?
Let me know...
Our little community is growing nicely, just wondering if there was any ideas we could use to keep it that way?
So, if you have a thought/idea/suggestion, drop me a pm...

On a serious note:
Exposure is key. I wear my RF.com shirts a lot.
I have the banner on my home web page.
Forwarding running friends/colleagues the link.
The forums have a lot to offer, especially since with the addition of the running log.

I tried using a search engine to find the site that way, and no matter what I searched for, it never came up. This is a common problem with PHP based sites. The search engines have a hard time (if they do it at all) picking up content of dynamically created PHP pages. This leaves the home page as the best hope for showing up in the search engines, however, the home page has no content or meta tags for the search engine to find. Check the site stats, and it is likely that very few visitors got here through a search engine.

Where can I get one of the RF.com shirts? I'd wear that to races and around campus. I mentioned this to PH a while ago, but if you want to publicize you can write runningforums.com in chalk on the roads and sidewalks frequented by runners. I had forgotten about that until you brought it up. I should really get on that.

interesting....
I used to go to the espn message boards for football news...and some dude would post about once a week, about another nfl message boars...The NFL forum. Not obnoxiously, just once in a while.
Now, I only go to The NFL forum. I don't even visit ESPN's boards anymore.
All because someone posted a link.
Do we have a volunteer, to very nicely, and just once a week, post a link to our forum?

I also thought of:
all people who are race directors (shelfie!) and people who work/volunteer at races, seeing if you can get a runningforums.com flyer or something and stick it in each of the regisration packets.
or if you print your own race #'s, you could put it on them.
Just some ideas.

I'm here from the CR forum. I found you guys when I clicked on the link on people's profile pages. I was just trying to figure out how to make one of my own...
