In the past few days something lodged a program in my computer. When I reboot my computer and open IE I get this "Search the web" on the left hand side of my screen. I can close it.
However, about 5 mins later regardless of what I am doing this "Search the web" screen takes over. It will not let me do anything, except hit control-alt-delete and close it. When it closes it shuts down all other types of programs I have running.
When I hit control-alt-delete I cannot find a possible unwanted program running. My virus scan software is finding no virus.
Any thoughts as to how I can find this program on my computer and remove it?

Is it some sort of sign you 'search the web' too much??  
Could it be that worm thats going around? I think thats supposed to completely lock up your computer every few minutes...
