This may sound corny, but my nomination for dude of the week is: you.
You're an awesome dad faced with incredible circumstances, love your
family through all of it, still maintain your running. Do a job which we all
need and appreciate. Have high ethics and morals. Set a good example
within your community.
(I'd add a joke about the uniform, but I'm really serious.)

Since you are the granter of dude points, I am taking you out of the running. I vote for Robp. He's redeemed himself tenfold.

I'll nominate alanintx because I think he's still a dude despite his fondness for french blue shirts or whatever it was.

I'll nominate megawill, because he's a great runner, a great father, and he's managed to keep a pretty positive attitude throughout his lay-off.

I'll punch a hanging chad for Joe with his heads up story yesterday. And he'd never fall for this...
| Quote: | | One night, a police officer was stalking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible violations of the driving-under-the-influence laws. At closing time, he saw a fellow stumble out of the bar, trip on the curb, and try his keys on five different cars before he found his. Then, sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes. Everyone left the bar and drove off. Finally, he started his engine and began to pull away. The police officer was waiting for him. He stopped the driver, read him his rights and administered the Breathalyzer test. The results showed a reading of 0.0. The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be. The driver replied, "Tonight, I'm the designated decoy." |

It's so hard to pick just one, you are ALL dude-worthy in my opinion!!
But....based on this week's postings, comments, activities, etc....I am going with Alan, for his comments in Joe's Abby post.

Wow! This is tough cause there are so many deserving people! But I'm casting my vote for airehead. Her story about putting her career plans on hold for the benefit of her family restored my faith in mankind this week! It seems that I meet so many selfish people these days but then just before I start to become cynical...I hear a story like hers! Okay...maybe her definition of "base" might have swayed my vote a little too!

I think there are too many to choose just one.
I think Abby should be dude of the week for being such a fighter!
