My 9th 'Q'! Guarantees me entry to the NYCM in 2004.
Well, you all know I have been sidelined for about a month with ITB issues. I needed to do this race but I went into with the goals of finishing pain free, and secondarily breaking 32 minutes (I wanted to go out easy). We also had Buffy's Christmas Party last night, I had a few beers and we didn't get in until after 2.
Mile 1 7:53 felt too good
Mile 2 7:13 felt good, but stomach was getting a little "funky"
Mile 3 7:28 stomach is giving me fits
Mile 4 6:48 wanted to rush this mile 'cause my stomach is going to 4 alarm mode ITB acted up a little in last 300 yards.
Overall a 29:23 for a 4 miler. I am quite pleased, a 7:21 average pace.
Things I got from this race...
1. ITB is getting better
2. I did not lose as much fitness as I feared. I think if I had treated this like a regular race (in otherwords, early to bed, no drinking) I probably could have broke 27 minutes.

Hey! I was there, probably running next to you in miles 1-3! You probably blew right past me in the last mile, though.
Did the little ones run? I hope they had fun...it was cold out!
Some of those kids were fast!!! I was trying to keep up w/ like a 9-year old the whole way. I even saw some brazen kids line up in the 5 min/mi section
Here were my times:
1. 7:33
2. 7:20
3. 7:31
4. 7:20
29:46 --> That's a PR for me!!!

Great race, beuatiful splits! I didn't bring the kiddies, the missus was in no shape this morning .
BTW, you finished about 40 seconds in front of me! I started out by the 9 minute milers and worked my way forward.

8min my ass.
You two are way too fast for the likes of me. At least I can drink faster than you.
Smokin' times! I love the "let's get faster with each mile" strategy. 9! w00t!
Note: you will have to wait for me lots next weekend. Lots, you fastio.
