Posted: 04/19/04 - 10:48 Post subject: My strange morning.
First Nichole gets up and gets ready in a timely fashion. She goes to the bus stop (which is directly in front of our house). I realize she has forgotten her lunch box so I step outside to give it to her. The neighbor always drops her son off at the bus stop and then leaves for work. Her son is Nicholes best friend and is over at our house all the time. He is a quiet well behaved kid. Today he apparently did NOT want to go to school. He was screaming and pitching a fit like I've never heard. I was shocked! I also felt really uncomfortable since I'm standing on my porch with a lunchbox watching the whole thing. I step inside to let the episode pass before I go any nearer. They leave (I guess she drove him to school) and Nichole gets her lunchbox.
This is where it really gets weird.
I take a shower in the master bathroom. I distinctly remember closing the bedroom door before going into the bathroom. When I come out of the bathroom the door is wide open. I get a little freaked because I know I closed that door. I check around the house. Nothing. The dog is behaving normally so I write it off as maybe the door didn't latch all the way. My morning continues. I close the bathroom door to drown out the sound of the fan, so I could hear the radio better. Go to the kitchen to make my lunch, return to the bathroom to dry my hair, and the bathroom door is standing wide open!!
I'm now safe at work where everything is normal. yeah right. But I'm a little spooked!

Achey's house is haunted! Achey's house is haunted!
Due to my vast experience with faulty doorknobs I believe I could fix you right up. All I'll need is a hammer, a punch and a drill....

Is it possible
a) your dog is playing a game with you
b) your house is settling a little so when you close a door (without latching it) it swings back open?
This reminds me of a terrible Buzz Kulik-directed made-for-TV movie called Bad Ronald. Anyone remember that?

Did you have any windows open? I know that when I leave windows open, the air circulation can affect the doors, thereby wigging me out.
I can see where you'd be spooked. I get spooked all the time when alone in the house, or at night when the kids are in bed and John isn't home yet. Our house was particularly noisy the other night while he was at work, and I must've gotten up 5 times to check doors, windows, kids, the alarm, etc, found nothing every time.

The window's were open, but usually the door gets sucked closed via slam fashion. They've never opened. My dog weighs 10lbs. I don't think she had anything to do with it. I'm sure there is a reasonable explaination. Right?
