I don't think you look like a boy either. But is there a chance he meant it as a compliment? Meaning your buff body is more like a guy's than a soft, round, squishy woman?
Those stereotypes are so yesterday, but not so long ago, even my son said something to that effect. Right after I whooped his ass arm wrestling! And Mr. Lambda often comments that my "guy" genes were expressed at a higher rate than my "girl" genes. He means that as a compliment.

It was acutally a running related spat. 
He was bragging how he's beat me in every race. I say Oh yeah who has all the medals?
He said he could have medals too if he could compete with the girls.
I told him that's because he's not good enough to compete with the guys.
He said Oh yeah well you look like a boy.
After reading this its kinda funny! I'm just a little competitive and touchy about it sometimes.
