Posted: 06/30/06 - 21:17 Post subject: My first E-Bay purchase
I've been toying with purchasing a Garmin 305 watch. Prices on the net vary from $249 to 349.00. The merchant I was originally considering turned out to be a fraud, and thanks to kerfwango I didn't go through with my purchase.
However, after much thought I finally worked up enough nerve to take a chance on ebay. I found a Garmin 305 for $241.00 plus $35.00 overnight shipping. The dealer appears reputable. The 305 is supposedly brand new in the original box with the manufacturer's guarantee. I should be able to confirm either a positive or negative experience by Wednesday.
I'm not all that trustworthy of paypal or ebay but friends of mine who have used them generally have been satisifed with them. I guess I'll find out.

I've bought lots of stuff on ebay, including a Nike Triax Elite, without any problem. You should be good.

Good Luck, I haven't tried any big ticket items yet, mostly small stuff for me.

Well, the Garmin 305 did come via UPS overnight as promised. I set up the profile and read the instruction manual last night.
So I'll get to to test it today shortly after 3:30 on a 5 to 6 mile run. The ebay experience went well.
