a few years ago, a little girl was assigned to this school after having been in 2 other schools in our district, where the students picked on her. She got here and promptly started beating up on our students. She had been recommended for testing, but those papers somehow "disappeared" because the mother threatened a lawsuit and our administrators have no backbone. Now 3 years later, mother decides that the kid needs tested because, in her own words, "the kid is whacko!" She is sorry she doubted us when we told her the kid needed help.

Wait until she is 18...then it is see you in the big house.
You guys only deal with kids every day. Though you may over react sometimes, most times they are right on.

I wonder why she got picked on

No thanks, I am quite happy in fantasy land Radnor and all of their silver spoons.

it's an emotional problem. the girl is actually very bright, but the emotional stress (and i'm betting some abuse) has taken it's toll and has affected her academics. She doesn't know how to socialize with her peers.

So then what can be done for something like that? I still think it is sad. I used to tutor at a school for underprivileged kids once a week. I think we were seeing the start of the "crackbaby" problem then, but if kids have that many emotional/behavior problems it affects their learning and obviously, as you were saying, the socialization process. Is there anything in the system (i.e. read free for the family if they are poor) that can help?
