PostPosted: 11/19/04 - 12:51    Post subject: My Green Bay Report (longish)
So Friday night I drove @ 3 hours to my brothers house, I arrive around 7:30 pm, and we decide that it would be wise to drink beer and play Madden 2005 before a 9 hour road trip.

So, 3 Madden games, and a six pack later(for me) We go to bed. Get up early, and go load the van at my Dad's house. We were surprisingly able to stow all our bags in the back cargo carrier in the van, even though there were six of us. (no women)

So we hit the road...a traveling techno van. My brother packed his 7 inch DVD player....and his gamecube...complete with remote controllers, and the seat behind the front seat was playing playstation games. In the backseat, my cousin had brought his laptop, and they were watching DVD movies on that.

So, the ride there was pleasant...even if a little long. We took bathroom breaks, and a long lunch stop, and made it to Green Bay by 5:30 pm. After missing our exit, and turning around somewhere(by Mike Sherman's house by the looks of it) we found our hotel and checked in.

No word from The Running Brewer. Sad I gave him my cell #, but didn't hear anything.

We then went to eat at the Backgammon Pub. Good Food, Leinie's Red on tap. Afterwards...we decided to go out in town. We went to a couple of places...but finally settled at "The Bar". Very Cool Place....big and spacious...high roof keeps the smoke off of you. They kept playing the "Go Pack Go" song, and my brother and I kept singing it as loud as we could.

There were "Bud girls" running around in little mini skirts with a new product, "Budweiser Select". A new beer that has just come out, we had some, decided it was good, and decided to switch to it for the rest of the night. (those skimpy outfits do work around a bunch of drunk guys evidently). We left around midnight, went to the hotel, drank even more beer, and played a tournament on Madden. dunno

The next day we were all tired and hung over(duh). Went to eat at Denny's before we took off. Had to hit the mall before the game, and loaded up on some packer stuff...Dad got a coat, I got a beanie stocking hat, etc... We head to Lambeau.

We spend 1/2 hour looking around for beer in the parking lot. No one has any, so we cross the street and get some at a gas station. (Bud Select) We get enough for each of us to have 4 before going in the stadium. So we stand around and chat with Packer fans, and drink our beer. We hear the "WE Love Brett Farve" song, and liked it so much, we made the people play it again.

1 hour before kickoff, we go into the stadium, and we had awesome seats. The place was alive...what an atmosphere. The game was great...the first touchdown to Walker happened pretty much right in front of us. The Packers opened a nice lead, the Vikings came back and tied it, and the Packers won on a last second field goal (at our end of the field).

We lost our minds. My voice was hashed until Wednesday from all the screaming I did at the game. What a great time. Mr. Green

We made our way to the hotel, ate pizza, and passed out.

Monday's drive home was uneventful, except for the fact that we made it over an hour faster than we did there.

I came home to a sick daughter, and a tired Mrs. Coach...

But, I had fun...cheers

Next year my brother has it planned....Soldier Field, Chicago.

Those Packers fans lied. They had beer; they just didn't want to share with the likes of you. And I cannot believe you drank Budweiser. The only thing worse is Coors. If you're going to drink, drink good stuff. You know, drink responsibly and all.

Sounds like a great time with the boys. You needed it; glad you got that time away.

You were hosed, Coach. They should have been making you drink Schlitz.

A true football fan would have shared with you.

Don't worry about the type of beer! It all ends up in the same place when you are done with it.
