every January I do a 5k time trial to see how my fitness is doing.

This year rocked my legs off. It was my fastest 5k overall in over 10 years.

after a 1 mile warmup at 900

here are my splits with heart rates
1 mile 734 142 hr av
2 mile 743 149 hr av
3 mile 732 154 hr av
final time 2320 154 av

fastest time since 1 January 1992 when I ran 2215.

thumbs up

You Oasters and your low heart rates. If I even think about running, I've got the system ticking away in the 140's.

I am very pleased with my consistency- all miles within 10 seconds. My goal was a steady pace.

Greg and I have resting heart rates of around 40 and have only maxed at like 175. I just cannot get my rate high. I feel like I am blowing up at 170.

Nice Job Joe!
I don't ever check my heart rate so i have no idea how i am doing on that. Well I get it checked 2 times a year at the Y when I get a fitness eval and when I go to the doctor but I don't track it when I am running.

Keep up the hard running!

excellent running joe!!

great idea too - every January 1.

your splits are awesome. your heart rate is the eighth wonder of the world. should go into Guiness book of world records Mr. Green

keep it up. all those sleepless nights haven't affected your running.

That is a great idea, Joe (I'm agreeing alot with RR today? Shocked )

Never been into my heart-rate either. I find the heart useless anyways...think I'll go write a poem...
